弁護士になって20年弱、さまざまな困難に押しつぶされそうになりながらも、立ち上がり、声をあげ、尊厳のために闘う人たちを間近に見てきました。一つ一つの闘い（＝訴訟）は、形としては個人的な権利や地位の回復を求めるものでしたが、そこで投げかけられている問いは、どれもが、この社会のあり方に大きく関係するものだと感じてきました。 In my almost 20 years as a lawyer, I have met many people who continued to fight for dignity no matter how many and how great their difficulties might be, people joining forces to have their voices heard. Each fight (litigation) was a claim to the legal rights or positions of individuals, but I felt that all of these cases raised much larger questions about how our society should operate.

つまり、彼ら彼女らの私的な闘いとそれに対する応答は、本当は、とてもパブリックなもので、私たちが暮らす社会の輪郭を決めている。にも関わらず、そうした問題提起は、裁判所という縁遠い場所や、勝った負けたの結論だけの情報が載る一部メディアだけに閉じ込められてしまっている。それはおかしいし、また、もったいないと思うのです。 In other words, I believe that individual struggles and answers to their questions are all very much a public matter that defines the outlines of our society. However, those issues raised in court proceedings are often confined within the four walls of courtrooms that most people think has nothing to do with their lives, or within certain media channels that only tell you which side has won. I believe that this is terribly wrong, and something must be done.

私たちはー原告や弁護団でなくても、ー公共訴訟にさまざまな形で参加し、そうした訴訟を通じて、私たちの社会がどうあるべきかを議論し、ともにより良い社会を作っていくことができるはずです。司法を通じたソーシャルチェンジへ、ようこそ。 You don't have to be a plaintiff or lawyer to participate in public interest lawsuits. You can do it in your own way, and by doing so, you can take part in discussions of how society should be and contribute to building a better society.

息苦しさを感じることなく、誰もがすこやかに生きられる社会。幼い頃、それは花壇に当たり前に咲く花のように思っていました。けれど、やがてそれは放って置いて咲くものではなく、多くの人が丹精を込め、時に闘いながら、日々手入れしている賜物と知りました。 I wish for a society in which everyone can live happily without feeling suffocated. When I was a child, a good society seemed to be like a rose that grows naturally in the garden. As I grew older, I realized more and more that the rose was not something that that doesn't need care and survives in any soil. I understood that a beautiful flower requires diligent and constant care by many people.

これからの公共のあり方を考え、必要であればルールを変え、未来につないでいくのは、専門家だけでなく、私たち一人ひとりの役割。そう思ってCALL4に接した時に、私は初めて、公共訴訟を身近なものに、骨太に感じることができました。原告もまた、私たちのうちの誰かなのだと。そして原告たちの切実な訴えの声こそが、社会を変える次の芽なのだと。 I came to think that it is the responsibility of each one of us to think of how public services should be delivered to meet today's demands, change rules if necessary, and create a sustainable society for future generations. This realization has led me to feel for the first time that public interest litigations had to do with my interests.Although I strongly emphasize the pain and desperation of those who filed a lawsuit, I feel that these are the necessary seeds of change that can help us build a better society.

長年メディアに携わり、「編んで伝える」仕事をしてきた私が、いま多くの人に届けたい声は、これだと思いました。勇気ある声に耳を澄まし、一つ一つの大切な新しい社会の芽に、みんなで寄り添い、育んでいけたらと思います。 I hope that CALL4 will be a place where we join our hands together and do all that is necessary to grow the precious shoots and buds into big plants and beautiful flowers. Although what I can do is not much, I am so happy and excited to take part in this great endeavor. Moreover, I am so looking to forward to meet like-minded individuals on this platform.

身近な公共訴訟の代理人を、いくつかしてきました。公共は官だけが担うものではありません。公共とは皆に関わりがあることです。公の対義語は私で、官の対義語は民です。 My life work is public interest lawsuits that deal with everyday issues. Public interest problems are not just the responsibility of the authorities. It has to do with everyone. The opposite of "public" is "private," and that of "authorities" is "civilians."

皆に関わりがある問題について、訴訟を通じて制度や地位の改善を求めることは、民が担う公共の一つです。 With regards to issues of public interest, it is one of civilians’ responsibilities to seek improvement of systems and make rightful claims through litigations.

CALL4を通じて、公共訴訟がもっと身近なものとなり、多くの民の力が加わることで公が充実することを願っています。 I hope that CALL4 will help make lawsuits more accessible and easier to begin as well as build better public services by bringing civilians together.

学生の頃から、社会を良くする仕事がしたいと思っていました。本業でも旅行メディアの編集や、IT企業・スタートアップのマーケティングやPRなどの仕事をしてきましたが、今切実に感じているのが、「本当に伝えたいことが届きにくくなっているのでは？」ということ。 I have always wanted to work to improve society since I was a student. I have been working as an editor for a travel media and a marketing and public relations professional for IT companies and startups. As advancing in my career, I came to realize how it is getting even more challenging to communicate what needs to be communicated.

SNSが主流になった今の時代、フォロワーの多い影響力のある人の声は、どんどんシェアされて広がりますが、本当に助けを必要としている人の声が、世の中に届きづらくなっていると感じます。私にできることは、「届けたい声を、世の中に伝わりやすい形に変換して、適切なツールを用いて発信すること」。公益訴訟を支えるプラットフォームの立ち上げを手伝って欲しいと声をかけられた時、自分の知見を社会変革のアクションに繋げられることにワクワクしました。 What I can do is to translate voices and stories that should be heard to make them more easily understandable and shareable, and help them reach a wider audience using appropriate tools. I am so thrilled to have been asked to help to establish a platform to support public interest litigations because I can finally apply my knowledge and expertise to actions that can fuel and create social change.

そして、勇気を持って声を上げることで、周囲の協力を得て、社会を変えていく。そんなちょっとした勇気を、大きな力に繋げる手助けとなるプラットフォームに。そんな願いを込めて、「共感が社会を変える CALL 4」というサービス名称を考えました。一人でも多くの人の心に、勇気を持って声を上げた人の言葉が届くことを願っています。 It takes the courage to make your voice heard. You can help change society by working together with the people around you. I hope to create a service that can help find a wider audience for the bravery and courageous efforts of individuals. I wanted this new platform to be one of the many avenues that encourage the empowerment of civilians. That's how I came up with the name for the service “Call4” and the phrase “Empathy Can Change the World.” I wish the stories of people who have found the courage to stand up for themselves will reach as many people as possible.

テクノロジーを使って社会課題を解決するアイデアに共感しました。司法の世界についてはあまり縁が無かったのですが、訴訟という権利が、社会を構成する重要な要素であることを知りました。 I was inspired by the idea to address social issues by taking advantage of technology. I haven't had much to do with the field of law and society, but I came to understand that our right to litigation is one of the critical components of society. I think that CALL4 is a community with an aim to inform the public of "important matters that are not yet well known" and foster discussions and actions for social change.

CALL4は、私たち市民にとって「詳しくは知られていないけれど大事なこと」を広く伝え、議論し、アクションを起こしていけるコミュニティです。 Technology has always been a driving force in changing societies. It has stimulated growth through open and scientific discussions, helped to address important issues on a public domain and reach a wider audience while creating positive change in society. I am honored to be playing a role in this endeavor which can lead the way for a more open society. I wish the process of helping people to speak out and undertake positive activities for a better society will be both rewarding and enjoyable.

活版印刷に始まり、鉄道、電力網、インターネットなど、テクノロジーはいつの時代も、科学の力で社会を開かれたものにしてきました。この活動を通し、より開かれた社会を形作る過程を楽しんで行けたらと思います。

CALL4で声を上げた人たちは彼らが直面する切実な問題について裁判で訴えています。けれども、その問題を作ったのは声を上げた人ではなく、私たちの社会です。私たちの社会の課題として一人ひとりが受け止め、解決へ向けて何が必要か考えていかれるように、このプラットフォームを皆さんと一緒に大切に育てていかれたらと思います。 Those who raised their voices in CALL4 use litigations to solve serious problems they face. However, our society has created the problems. I hope that we can raise up this platform together with you so that each one of us can accept this as an issue of our society and think together what we need to do to solve it.

知らないことで実は損をしていたり、知っているからリスクを回避できたり、自分の権利が守られたりということが世の中にはある思います。 I believe that there are times that we lose by not knowing, and situations where we can prevent risks and protect our rights by knowing.

"知らないことで損をする"といった情報格差のない世界をつくりたいという思いから、いいモノやサービスを世の中に広げ、より豊かな社会の実現を目指しPRという仕事に携わってきました。 With my wish to make the world where there is no information gaps, where "people lose by not knowing", I have been involved in PR aiming to realize a more prosperous society through spreading the great goods and services to the society.

PRという職を通じて、自分の知識や経験を生かしてより社会に還元できる人になりたいという思いが強くなった頃に、CALL4と出会いました。これまで「訴訟」は自分から遠い存在だと思っていましたが、CALL4を通じて今私が当たり前に手にしている権利はこういった一つ一つの「訴訟」の積み重ねだと実感しました。以前の私のように「訴訟」を遠い存在と思っている人に「公共訴訟」を知ってもらい、共感してもらい、そして一人ひとりが声をあげることで社会がより良くなっていくことをお手伝いできればと思います。 I came across CALL4 when I became very passionate about my work in PR that I want to become a person who can give back to society by making use of my knowledge and experience. I used to think that "lawsuits" were something far away from me, but through CALL4, I realize that the rights I have are the result of the accumulation of such "lawsuits". I want to help those who think "lawsuits" are far away to know about "public-interest lawsuits", and improve our society by having each individual speaking up collectively.

社会には様々な問題があります。問題が解決されない原因は様々ですが、それらの根本には、多くの人の無関心と、そして、さらにその根本には「声をあげてもどうせ変わらない」という諦めがあるように思います。 There are many problems in society. There are various reasons why these problems remain unresolved, but the fundamental problems lies in indifference on the part of many people. Even more fundamentally, it is the sense of resignation that "even if I speak out, it won't change anyway".

少しでも良い社会にしたい。そのために声をあげたい。そう思う人が増えるためには、関心をもってもらう「きっかけ」と、諦めを乗り越えるための「確信」が必要です。 I want to make a better society. I want to speak up for that. In order to increase the number of people who feel this way, we need a "trigger" to get people become interested and athe "confidence" to overcome the feeling of resignation.

私は普段は広告代理店でキャンペーンづくりや、コミュニティ形成のためのチームづくりにかかわっています。 During my work at an advertising agency, I create campaigns and build teams for community building .

関心を持った人たちが集い、想いでつながり、お互いを勇気づける、そのとき、集まった力は無力ではないと確信する。無関心と諦めを克服していく、そんなイベントをCALL4でつくっていきます。 When interested people get together, connect with their thoughts, and encourage each other, they will be convinced that the collective strength is never powerless. I will create such an event at CALL4 to overcome such indifference and resignation.

訴訟で社会を変えようと声を上げる人たちの力になりたいと思い、CALL4に加わりました。 I joined CALL4 because I want to help those who are raising their voices to change society through litigations.

これまでいくつかの公共訴訟に接する機会があり、一つの訴訟の裏側には当事者の強烈な体験や戦いの歴史があることを知りました。そこで問題提起されていることを近くで見聞きすると、決して他人事とは言えないものばかりでした。同時に、訴訟内で交わされる貴重な公共的議論が、一部の人たちの間に閉じられており、もったいなく感じることがありました。 I have had the opportunity to be exposed to several public lawsuits and learned that behind every single lawsuit there is a history of complex experiences and battles of the parties. When I saw and heard the issues being raised in these cases up close, I could not help but feel that I was not a stranger to the issues. At the same time, I sometimes felt that it is such a pity that the valuable public discussions that take place within the lawsuit were confined to only a small group of people.

会社員やいくつかの市民社会での取り組みを経て、法律家コミュニティに加わりました。私のミッションは、その訴訟が持つ社会的意義を、様々な分野の人たちに理解してもらえるよう橋渡し役を努めることです。 After working in corporate companies and for several public initiatives, I joined the legal community. My mission is to serve as a bridge to help people from various fields understand the social significance of their litigations.

CALL4を通じて、良い社会を作りたいという一つ一つの小さな声を、より大きな声に変えていくことのお手伝いができればと思います。 Through CALL4, I hope to help turn each small voice that wants to create a good society into a louder voice.

CALL4と出会い、社会で起きている様々な困難や課題に対して、誰もが声を上げることができて、賛同や支援ができる場所があると知りました。 When I encounter CALL4, I learned that there is a place where anyone can raise their voice and provide support and endorsement for the various difficulties and issues occurring in society.

普段生活していると、会社員や消費者以外の自分を忘れがちで、一市民として、自分を取り巻く社会と関わる機会が少ないと感じていました。誰かの人権が守られない世界は息苦しいし、困難に直面している人には手を差し伸べたい。思うだけでアクションに移せない人は多くいると思います。 In my everyday life, I tend to forget who I am other than a company employee or a consumer, and I felt that as a citizen, I do not have many opportunities to engage with the society around me. A world where someone's human rights are not protected is stifling, and I want to reach out to those who are facing difficulties. I believe that there are many people who just think but cannot take actions.

訴訟や寄付というアクションで、一人一人の市民と社会を繋ぎ、困難の解決を目指すCALL4の取り組みに共感し、参加しました。活動を通じて、声を上げる人たちの思いを広く届け、多くの人がより良い社会の実現に関われる場づくりに寄与できればと思います。 I joined CALL4 because I resonnate with its goals to connect individual citizens with society through actions such as lawsuits and donations, and to resolve the difficulties they face. Through our activities, we hope to spread the thoughts of those who raise their voices and contribute to creating a place where many people can be involved in realizing a better society.

「寒さにふるえた者ほど、太陽の暖かさを感じる。人生の悩みをくぐった者ほど、生命の尊さを知る（Walter Whitman）」小学校卒業時、担任だった書道家の先生にいただいた言葉です。病弱な幼少期も、いろいろなことに直面してくじけそうになった時も、この言葉が私を支えてきてくれました。世の中の誰しもがそれぞれ、何かしら苦しいことにぶつかって寒さにふるえる時があると思います。その寒さは一人ひとり違い、他人と比較するものではないと思っています。日本では一人ひとりが苦しさを自由に吐き出す権利があります。吐き出したことを社会に訴える仕組みがあります。司法を通じて、声を上げ、大きな力に立ち向かうのはとても力のいることですが、寒くてふるえながら立ち向かっている人を決して一人にしないよう、CALL4に世の中の人の共感があつまり、一人の声を大きな力に変え、その一人が、同じ寒さを感じている世の中の誰かが、太陽の暖かさを少しでも感じることができるようになるよう、私もお手伝いしたいと思っています。CALL4で司法を通じて誰もが寒さを分かち合い、支え合うことでよりよい社会を作れることを信じています。 "Keep your face always toward the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you(Walter Whitman)". This is the word my homeroom teacher, a calligrapher, gave me when I graduated from elementary school. This word have supported me throughout my sickly childhood and when I felt like giving up facing various challenges. I believe everyone in the world has times when they face some kind of suffering and shiver with the coldness. I believe the coldness is different for each individuals that it is not comparable to others’. In Japan, every person has the right to freely express their sufferings. There is a system to appeal to the society about what you have suffered. It requires a lot of strength to raise one's voice through the judicial system and to stand up to the big forces, but I hope that the empathy of people around the world will gather in CALL4, never letting the person who are shivering in the coldness left alone. I hope to be a help to make one person's voice turning into a big power, let the person as well as someone in the coldness to feel the warmth of the sun. I believe that we can create a better society by gathering in CALL4, sharing the coldness and supporting each other through justice.

日常生活や社会の中で、あれ、これでいいのかなと思うこと、おかしいなと思いながら我慢していること。みんなで少しずつでも動けば変えられるかもしれません。みんなの少しずつの力が、どこかの誰かを助けられるかもしれません。声を上げた人をみんなで少しずつでも支える。みんなで司法を活用する。CALL4はそんなみなさんをお手伝いできる場でありたいなと思います。 In our daily society, there are things that we wonder if this is right, things that we put up with while thinking they are not right. If we all work together, little by little, we may be able to change things. A little bit of everyone's power may be able to help someone else somewhere. We all support those who raise their voices, even if it is just a little bit. I would like CALL4 to be a place where we can help people like that.

あなたが「仕方ない」と飲み込んでいる理不尽は、他の誰かも直面している理不尽かもしれません。 The unreasonableness that you take as "inevitable" may be unreasonableness that someone else is also facing.

社会の理不尽に対して声を上げている人たちの目的は、自分のためというよりも、社会を変えて他の誰かも救うためであることがほとんどです。そんな他の誰かのために、理不尽を我慢せずに声を上げてくれた当事者の方々や、使命感をもって戦いを請け負った代理人の方々に、CALL4での活動を通じて社会全体から、感謝と支援を届けていきたいと思っています。 In most cases, the purpose of those who raise their voices against social unreasonableness is not so much for their own sake, but rather to change society and save others. We would like to deliver our gratitude and support from society as a whole through our activities in CALL4 to those parties who have raised their voices without putting up with unreasonableness and to those attorneys who have undertaken the fight with a sense of mission for the sake of such someone else.

「社会問題の解決」と聞くとどこか遠くに感じていたことも、CALL4に参加し、活動する中で、自分にもできることがある、と思うようになりました。 寄付でも、SNSでの拡散でも、日々の暮らしの中で、少し気にかけるだけでもいい。社会を変えるその過程に一人一人が関わることで、無力感を乗り越え、より良い社会を実現できる。そう信じてもいいと思っています。 I used to feel somewhat estranged when I heard the phrase "solving social problems," but after joining CALL4 and participating in its activities, I have come to believe that there are things I can do as well. It could be donations, spreading words on social media, or just making small changes our daily lives. If each of us is involved in that process of changing society, we can overcome our sense of helplessness and realize a better society. I believe we can believe in that.

「理不尽」に苦しめられている人がいるときに、見て見ぬふりをしない人になりたい。「理不尽」の先が自分じゃなくてよかった、なんて思いたくない。「理不尽」に襲われた人が、自分のせいだなんて責めないでほしい。その「理不尽」が社会によるものであれば、私たちの社会が問われなければならない。 I want to be someone who does not turn a blind eye when someone is suffering from "unreasonableness. I don't want to think that I am lucky that the destination of "unreasonableness" is not on me. I don't want those who have been attacked by "unreasonableness" to blame themselves for it. If the "unreasonableness" is caused by society, our society must be questioned.

司法は、「理不尽」を社会に問い、「理不尽」に実効的に対処できる可能性を持つ手段だと信じています。そして、CALL4は「理不尽」に挑む人を一人にしないよう支援の輪を広げ、多くの人にとって司法を身近にすることを目指しています。 I believe that the judiciary is a means by which society can question "unreasonableness" and potentially deal effectively with "unreasonableness. And CALL4 aims to expand the circle of support so that no one is left alone to challenge "unreasonableness" and to make justice more accessible to many people.

人々に、「理不尽」に対抗し生きていく手段が一つでも増えますように。一つでも「理不尽」の少ない社会になりますように。 We hope that people will have even one more way to live against "unreasonableness". I wish for a society with less "unreasonableness".

政治的決定、その遂行により個人の中核的自由が侵害されている場合に、いかに連帯が新たな抑圧を生まない態様でその侵害を斥けるか。この難問を解く一つの方法が、事実関係と当事者の方の主張やストーリーが法的な形式に従って綴られる訴訟資料を公開し、広く議論を呼ぶことだと考えます。分野を問わずぜひ弁護士の方々に積極的にコミットしていただきたい、という中の人としての思いを表明しつつ、自由な組織で学生メンバーにも優しいことに感謝し、CALL4となんらかの形で関わっていただける全ての方との交流を楽しみに、日々研鑽を積んでまいります。 When core individual freedoms are violated by political decisions and government actions, how can solidarity repel the infringement in a manner that does not create new repression? One way to solve this conundrum is to publish and widely discuss litigation documents in which the facts and the parties' claims and stories are spelled out according to legal form. As a member of CALL4, I would like to express my hope that attorneys in all fields will actively commit themselves to CALL4, and I am grateful for the freedom of the organization and its student-friendly environment. I look forward to interacting with all those who are involved with CALL4 in some way, and I will continue to improve every day.

CALL4で裁判と司法は人間性の側面を感じた。当事者も寄与者もCALL4メンバーも傍聴者も弁護人も、司法という「中間場所」で繋がり、社会の理不尽を直面する勇気の姿は、かっこいいなと思います。司法は社会の皆にとって一番根本的なpublic forumではないかと思います。ぜひ、そこで、一緒に遊んでみましょう。 I felt what it means "to be a human" through CALL4 activities. All the litigation parties, thoes who contribute to the case, and those who support the case, are connected through the judicial platform. Their actions, no matter big or small, make me awed. Probably the judicial system is a good public space of free expression. Look forward to meet with you here!

社会を変えるための第一歩は、まずひとめでも見てもらうことだと思います。どんな課題があり、なにに苦しんでいるのか、なぜ支援を必要としているのか。自分には関係ないと思える言葉も、視覚的にたのしいと理解しやすいことがあります。デザインの力で、わかりやすく伝えることで、よりおおくの「共感」を呼ぶお手伝いができればと思います。 I believe that the first step in changing society is to have a real look at the society. What kind of issues do they have, what are they suffering from, and why do they need support? Even words that may seem irrelevant to you may be easier to understand if they are visually pleasing. By using the power of design to communicate in an easy-to-understand way, we hope to make people feel more "empathy".

法律も訴訟も自分には縁遠いもの、裁判所は敷居の高いところ。ずっとそう思っていましたが、外国の人たちの就労環境や入管問題に関心があり、その延長線上でCALL4と出合いました。 The law and lawsuits are out of reach for me, and the courts are the hard-to-reach place. I had always thought so, but I was interested in the working environment for foreign nationals and immigration issues, and as an extension of that interest, I came across CALL4.

傍聴に足を運ぶようになって感じたのは、原告と被告（の代理人）が真正面からことばで対峙する法廷でのやりとりは、人間の営みに他ならないということです。 As I started going to trails, I realized that what happened in the courtroom is nothing but human activities, where the plaintiff and defendant (or their representatives) face each other head-on with words.

CALL4がサポートしているのは、国や地方公共団体という大きな相手に声をあげた人、そんな人たちのために立ち上がった弁護士の人たちです。その声が、社会になかなか届きにくい人たちのストーリーを伝えていくうえで、視点は人の数だけあることを忘れずに、フラットな気持ちで、彼（女）らのうちなる声にまで「耳」を傾けたいと思います。 CALL4 supports people who have raised their voices against big opponents such as the national and local governments, and attorneys who have stood up for such people. In telling the stories of those whose voices are hard to reach in society, we would like to "listen carefully" to even their inner voices with a flat heart, remembering that there are as many points of view as there are people.

代表の谷口さんと会うまでは、裁判とか訴訟は遠い世界だった。CALL4で知った公共訴訟は相手は国、自治体、警察などで、それは自分側だと思っていた。でもこれらの組織は時として私たちの税金を使い、自らの保身のため体制を組み専門家を巻込み、あるいは不義を働きながら立ちはだかってくるのだ。対して原告側は資金もなく味方の限られ、生活を犠牲にしながらそれでも諦められず正義を信じて進むのだ。彼らはもはや公僕ではなく、こんな不公平な事はない。 Until I met Mr. Taniguchi, the representative of CALL4, court cases and lawsuits seemed like a distant world. The public interest litigation I learned about through CALL4 involves opponents such as the government, local authorities, and the police, entities that I had thought were on our side. However, these organizations sometimes use our tax money, form structures for self-preservation, involve experts, and even while committing injustices, stand in our way. On the other hand, the plaintiffs have no funds and limited allies, sacrificing their lives but still unable to give up, moving forward with faith in justice. These entities are no longer public servants, and such unfairness is intolerable.

どんな組織にも未熟な部分はあり、より良くする仕組みが必要だ。CALL4はそれを支援する。だから僕たちはCALL4が好きなのだ。 Every organization has its immature aspects and needs a system for improvement. CALL4 supports this. That’s why we like CALL4.

小学生の時に経験した、ハンディキャップをもったクラスメイトとの学校生活から、「人は皆違っていいのだ」と強く思うようになり、多様な個性をもつ人々が共に暮らすこの社会に貢献できる人物になりたいと考えるようになりました。私は、「自分らしくあること」に誇りを持って互いの個性を遺憾なく発揮し、臆せず議論に参加する姿勢こそが、他者との共生と相互理解を可能にすると考えています。それを実現できる場所が、CALL4であり、司法であります。社会を変えることは容易ではありませんが、地道に活動していくことでより良い社会になると信じています。 My experience in elementary school with classmates with dissabilities made me strongly believe that "it is okay for everyone to be different" and that I would like to be a person who can contribute to this society where people with diverse personalities live together. I believe that by demonstrating each other's individuality without regret, or by an attitude to participate being proud of "being oneself", we make it possible to coexist with others and achieve mutual understanding. CALL4 and the judiciary are the places where this can be realized. It is not easy to change society, but I believe that we can make it a better society by working steadily.

社会は、本当は私たちの手で変えていくことができます。この社会の生きづらさの中には仕組みの問題／構造の問題として解消する余地のあるものが山ほどあり、それを変える力は本来市民の手にあります。「どうせ変わらない」「自己責任だ」という諦めを乗り越えたい。公共訴訟は私たちの大きな武器になります。4つ目の力を呼び起こして、生きやすい社会をみんなでつくる大きな流れを作りたいです。 Society can truly be changed by our own hands. There are numerous aspects of the difficulties in living in this society that can be resolved as issues of systems and structures, and the power to change them inherently lies in the hands of the citizens. I want to overcome the resignation of 'nothing will change' and 'it's your own responsibility.' Public interest litigation can become a powerful weapon for us. I want to create a major movement to summon this fourth power and build a society together where everyone can be true to themselves. It may feel like each of us can't do anything alone, but if we come together and bring what each of us can offer, we can achieve many things. Around CALL4, many changes are already happening. Let's do this together.

共感が社会を変える。この言葉の意味するところを考えた時、私たちが持っているパワーの大きさにハッとさせられます。誰かが小さな声を上げた時、それが共感を呼んで、社会で大きな渦となる。そうして形成された国民の思いは、何よりも強力であるはずです。司法は決して遠い世界ではなく、裁判官が何か特別な権力を持っているわけでもない。わたしたちの共感が、社会を変えるのです。 Empathy changes society. When I think about what these words mean, I am struck by the power we have. When someone raises a small voice, it calls people's empathy and becomes a big vortex in society. The thoughts of the people which formed this way must be more powerful than anything else. The judiciary is not a estranged world, and judges do not have any special power. Our empathy can change our society.

この社会には様々な障壁があります。それらを取り除こうと計り知れない労力をかけて、自分や誰かの尊厳のために戦っている人がいます。社会はそのような人たちの行動で今も変わり続けています。司法を通して誰にとっても生きやすく、時には共感し皆んなで声を上げられる、そんな社会を築いていきたいです。 In this society, there are various barriers. There are people who, with immeasurable effort, fight to remove these barriers for their own dignity or that of others. Society continues to change through the actions of such individuals. Through the judicial system, we aim to build a society where everyone can live more comfortably, empathize with one another, and collectively raise their voices when needed.

社会で起きている「おかしなこと」に声をあげる人の存在を知り、無知が偏見につながることを実感しました。社会の不条理に苦しんでいる人々の訴訟を支援したいと強く感じ、CALL4に加わりました。 Getting to know people who raise their voices against injustices in society, I realized how ignorance can lead to prejudice. I strongly felt the desire to support the lawsuits of those suffering from societal injustices, which led me to join CALL4. Through my activities with CALL4, I have come to understand that there are numerous barriers to raising one's voice and that there are many people who cannot raise their voices even if they want to. Becoming a social minority is something that can happen to anyone. By making more people aware of those who raise their voices, I believe we can encourage those suffering under societal pressures with the power of the citizens.

CALL4で活動する中で、声をあげるにはさまざまな障壁があることを知り、「声をあげたくてもあげられない人」がたくさんいることに気づかされました。 Through public interest litigation, I will continue to strive and grow as someone who works to improve our society.

私の所属するSNS広報チームでは、デザイン、動画編集、撮影、キャプション作成、等々たくさんの「できる」が集まってCALL4の入り口を作っています。それはきっとCALL4全体、ひいては社会も同じです。その「できる」が集まった力が良い方へ進むよう、1パーツとして微力ながらお手伝いしていきたいです。 I work in CALL4's social media marketing/PR team, where we bring together various skills such as design, video editing, filming, caption creation, and more to create the entry point for CALL4. The way each of us contributes a different skillset mirrors the collaborative nature of CALL4 as a whole and even society. 司法を通じた社会問題の解決と現場の個人の救済を目指しひたむきに努力する当事者、弁護士、支援者の生きる力に憧れて、今の自分にも何かできることはないだろうかという思いに突き動かされ、CALL4に参加しました。CALL4の取り組みは、訴訟支援・裁判資料公開により司法との接続を支援するだけでなく、それらを通じて、今ここ、この社会で声を上げている人がいることを伝え、私たち自身が生きる社会がどうあるべきかということを誠実に考える機会を生み出す、市民と市民の接続を可能にするものであると私は考えています。忙しい日々の中でも、声をあげる人がいること、その声を受けて立ち止まって考える心を持つ人がいることを相互に感じていただけるように、精一杯努めてまいります。 I have long admired the resilience of plaintiffs, lawyers, and supporters who dedicate themselves to addressing social issues through the judiciary and to helping individuals in need. Motivated by the thought that there was something I could do, I joined CALL4. CALL4’s efforts go beyond merely facilitating connections with the judiciary through litigation support and public access to court documents. By highlighting the voices of those who are speaking out in our society today, CALL4 fosters a connection between citizens and provides us with opportunities to reflect sincerely on the society we want to live in. I will do my best to ensure that, even in the midst of our busy lives, we remain aware of those who raise their voices and of those who take the time to stop and reflect in response.

世界では社会課題と言われることが長年存在し、変化が叫ばれています。小さな頃から「社会では正解とされているけど何か変」「より良くすることで多くの人が幸せを感じ、理不尽な差が生まれないようにできるのではないか」と思うことがありましたが、私が成長してもなお解決していないことが沢山です。そして、お互いを知らないということを理由に、誰かを阻害したり、当事者自身も気づかず我慢すればいいやと諦めたりすることもあります。 Social issues have been present in the world for many years, and calls for change have been ongoing. From a young age, I have wondered, "Although this is considered correct in society, something feels off," and "By improving this, could many people feel happier and prevent unreasonable disparities?" Even as I have grown, many of these issues remain unresolved. There are also times when, due to lack of understanding, people exclude others or, without realizing it, the individuals affected themselves resign to enduring the situation.

しかし、もう待つことはできません。私たちは一人ひとり、尊重されなければならない存在です。声をあげれば、共感してくれる人がいるかもしれません。理解し合えるかもしれません。モヤモヤは社会にとって変えたほうがよかったことかもしれません。この、かもしれない、を少しでも実現し、私たちが生きやすい社会を創っていきたい。私自身も声をあげ続け、司法・研究を通じて力になれればと思っています。 However, we can no longer afford to wait. Each of us deserves to be respected. By raising our voices, we may find people who empathize with us. We might be able to understand each other better. The uncertainties we feel might be things that should have been changed for the betterment of society. I want to realize even a small part of this "might" and help create a society where we can all live more comfortably. I also hope to continue raising my voice and contributing through the judicial system and research.

個人的な問題から社会全体の問題を問う公共訴訟に魅力を感じ、CALL4に参加しました。CALL4には、「しょうがないよ」と言われてしまいそうなことに対しても、諦めずに努力を続ける姿勢の人が多くいます。そんな仲間と共に活動でき、日々多くを学んでいます。公共訴訟を通じて、「社会課題」という言葉で抽象化されて見えなくなりがちな当事者個人を、一人の人間としてより身近に理解できると感じています。国会の議論が現実社会と離れていると感じられる中で、個人が司法の側面から直接声を上げられることは大きな希望です。誰もが声を上げやすく、そして声を上げる人を誰もが支援しやすい環境を作るために、これからも活動に取り組んでまいります。 I was drawn to the appeal of public interest litigation that addresses various issues from personal ones to social ones and joined CALL4. At CALL4, there are many people who persistently work towards solutions, even in the face of what might seem like "just how things are." I am learning a great deal every day through my activities with such dedicated CALL4 members. Through public litigation, I feel we can better understand individuals who might otherwise become abstracted by the term "social issues," seeing them more closely as individual human beings. In a time when debates in the national parliament seem disconnected from reality, the ability for individuals to raise their voices directly through the judicial system is a significant hope. I am committed to continuing my efforts to create an environment where everyone can more easily raise their voices and support those who do.

CALL4を通じて、公共訴訟の一側面を目の前にする機会をいくつか得たとき。これまで何かしらの苦痛・損害を被った「個人」を救済する存在、という認識であった「訴訟」が、その出来事に関わった様々な個人あるいは組織、また直接関わりをも持たない個人あるいは組織、さらには国へも変革を求めていく力を持っている存在であることを実感するとともに、公共訴訟を通じて行われるたたかいは「どこかの誰かの悲しい話」では決してなく、私たち一人ひとりに何かしらの形で関わるたたかいなのだ、と認識するにいたりました。 Through CALL4, I have had several opportunities to actually witness one aspect of public litigation. I realized that "lawsuits," which until now I had thought of as an entity that provides relief to "individuals" who have suffered some kind of pain or damage, has the power to demand change from various individuals or organizations involved in the event, individuals or organizations that are not directly involved, and even the government. I have also come to realize that the fight through public lawsuits is not a "sad story about someone else," but a fight that affects each one of us in one way or another.

たたかいに臨む人々に対し、周りの人々がとりうるアクションとは。それらのアクションを広げていくためには何が必要か。また、たたかいを諦めない選択ができる社会をどのように創造していくことができるのか。CALL4というコミュニティを通して皆さんと考え、実践していきたいと考えています。 What actions can people around us take to help those who are fighting? What is needed to expand those actions? Through the community of CALL4, we would like to think together about these questions and put them into practice.

公共訴訟により様々な問題が明らかになり解決の方向に進むことで開かれた社会となることを願っています。 I hope that public interest litigation will clarify various issues and lead to solutions, opening up society for the better.

もし、日本社会の中で日本語で伝えてなかなか理解してもらえないことがあっても、英語で伝えてみたらあっさり仲間をみつけられたり、もっとたくさんの仲間がいたことに気づけることってあるとおもいます。CALL4の掲載ケースや取り組みのひとつひとつが、様々な言語への翻訳によってより多くの人に届くことを願っています。（翻訳メンバー常時募集中！） Even when something isn't well understood in Japanese within Japanese society, expressing it in English or different languages can help you find allies quickly or reveal that there are many more allies than you realized. I hope that each case and initiative featured on CALL4 reaches a wider audience through translation into various languages. (Our translation team always welcomes new members!)

CALL4 is a platform that provides various means to fulfill this desire by addressing social issues, supporting those who are struggling, and simply being with them. When you feel overwhelmed by the belief that society will never change and that you cannot make a difference, the voices of those gathered at CALL4 remind you that you are not powerless.

誰もが個人として尊重され、幸せを追求できること。司法がその実現のために存在すること。CALL4の活動を通じて、その実現のお手伝いができればと思っています。 Everyone deserves to be respected as an individual and to pursue their own happiness. Through CALL4's projects, I hope to contribute to making these ideals a reality.

公共訴訟に取り組む弁護士の立場から、CALL4に参画しました。公共訴訟の法廷では、当事者が声を上げ、代理人弁護士は説得的な法的主張をしていますが、その活動が広く社会に認知される機会は多くありません。活動を知ってもらうことから共感が生まれ、当事者の追い風となり、裁判所を動かしていきます。CALL4が公共訴訟の法廷と社会をつなぐ架け橋となるよう活動してまいります。 I joined CALL4 as a lawyer involved in public interest litigation. In the courtroom, those directly involved raise their voices, and the representing lawyers present persuasive legal arguments, but these activities rarely gain broad recognition in society. When people become aware of these efforts, it generates empathy, which can support those involved and influence the courts. I will work to ensure that CALL4 serves as a bridge between the courtroom of public interest litigation and society.

「公正な社会の実現」というと抽象的で高尚なものに聞こえるかもしれません。ですが、それは日常生活の中で感じた「なぜ」や「どうして」から始まることもあります。そうした違和感は非常に身近で、誰しもが自分ごととして直面し得るものです。「なぜ」「どうして」を声にし、これを是正しようという思いを法的に構成して主張することで、裁判を通じた公正な社会の実現に少しずつ近づけると信じています。 "Achieving a Fair Society" might sound abstract and lofty. However, it can also start from the everyday experiences of questioning "why." Such feelings of discomfort are very personal and can be faced by anyone as their own issue. By voicing the questions of "why," and structuring and asserting the desire to correct these issues legally, I believe we can gradually move closer to achieving a fair society through the judicial process.

耳を傾けるべき小さな声を社会に届け、解決につながるように大きくしていく。それは司法の使命の一つであると思いますし、私の目標でもあります。 I believe one of the missions of the judiciary is to amplify the small voices that deserve to be heard and to bring them to society’s attention, helping to find solutions. This is also my personal goal. Through my involvement in CALL4, which supports public interest litigation, I want to contribute to building a better society, starting with what I can do.

CALL4ではアーカイブプロジェクトを担当しています。重要な判断を勝ち取った過去の訴訟資料を公開する活動です。CALL4が、現に生きづらさを抱えている人々の物語を伝えるのみならず、誰かがこれまでに生きづらい社会を変えてきた（それは違憲無効などの華々しい判決に限られません）という希望も伝えられるプラットフォームになればと思っています。市民的自信の涵養を通じて「社会を形作る4つめの力」を大きくしていくこと。そのためのアーカイブ作業を、公的機関に委ねる代わりに市民自身の手で行っていくこと。そういったヴィジョンを持ちながら、日々尊敬できるCALL4メンバーと共に活動しています。 At CALL4, I am in charge of the Archive Project, which involves making available past litigation materials that resulted in important decisions. I hope that CALL4 can become a platform that not only shares the stories of people who are currently struggling with difficulties but also conveys the hope that others have changed this challenging society in the past (and this isn’t limited to spectacular rulings like those declaring laws unconstitutional). By fostering civic confidence, we aim to strengthen the 'fourth power that shapes society.' Instead of relying on public institutions, we carry out this archiving work with our own hands as citizens. With this vision in mind, I work every day alongside the admirable members of CALL4.

司法の門扉は何人にも常に開かれています。公共訴訟の原告は社会のために声をあげます。彼らには、想像を絶する労力と時間、何より「勇気」が要求されるのが実情です。人は他者の人生を歩むことはできません。それでも、他者の人生を推知することはできます。私は原告一人ひとりとの対話を通じて、彼らの抱く信念を垣間見、彼らの甘受する負担が少しでも和らぐよう、黒子に徹するまでです。 The gates of justice are always open to everyone. Plaintiffs of public interest litigations raise their voices for the sake of society. In reality, they are required to invest unimaginable effort, time, and above all, courage. People cannot live the lives of others, but they can understand and empathize with them. Through dialogue with each plaintiff, I glimpse their convictions and strive to ease their burdens, dedicating myself to supporting them behind the scenes.

自分の尊厳を守るため声を上げなければいけなかった人、誰かの尊厳を守るため声を上げる人、それを支援する人。自分が何気なく生きている社会の中にもたたかっている人がいることを、そして、たたかう人に共感する人の声は社会を変える力を持つことを、より多くの人に伝えたい。自分の尊厳が脅かされているかもしれないという違和感を抱いたときに、誰もがあたりまえに、おかしいと声を上げることができる社会を作るため、CALL4のメンバーとして微力ながらお手伝いをしていこうと思っています。 People who had to raise their voices to protect their own dignity, people who raise their voices to protect others' dignity, and those who support them. I want to convey to more people that there are individuals fighting within the seemingly ordinary society we live in, and that the voices of those who empathize with the fighters have the power to change society. When we feel a sense of discomfort that our own dignity might be threatened, I want to help create a society where everyone can naturally raise their voices against what seems wrong. As a member of CALL4, I aim to contribute in whatever small way I can.

この社会は様々な利害が絡み合って成立しています。誰かが得をする一方で、誰かが不利な状況に嘆いているかもしれません。そのような状況で解決を諦め、泣き寝入りする人をゼロにしたいと強く思います。 This society is made up of many different interests. While someone benefits, someone else may be struggling with a disadvantageous situation. I strongly believe that no one should have to give up on finding solutions to these challenges, and I am committed to reducing that number to zero.

裁判は、一部の困りごとを抱えた人のための解決手段のように思われます。でも、たくさんあるケースの背景には、社会全体が抱える不合理な仕組みが、見え隠れします。ケースは、社会の縮図です。 Court trials may seem like a solution for only a few people with specific problems. However, behind many cases, there are often glimpses of the irrational systems that affect society as a whole. Each case is a microcosm of society. By influencing the judiciary through these cases, the judiciary can drive societal change. I aim to help facilitate the opportunities for such change.

ケースを通して司法に働きかけることによって、司法が社会を変えていく。その変化のきっかけを手伝っていきます。

私はこれまで、「社会課題」と言われるものに対して、自分ごととして感じることはしていなかったように思います。それが数年前から、CALL4でデザイン面をお手伝いするようになり、自分の関わった案件が夕方のニュースで取り上げられているのを見て、私にもできることがあるかもしれないと思うようになりました。次第に、もっと自ら関わっていきたいと考えるようになり、CALL4への参画を決めました。CALL4が目指すのは、市民がそれぞれのやり方で、訴訟へ関われるようにすること。まさに今、私がそれを体現しているかもしれません。 I had never really felt a personal connection to what are called 'social issues.' However, a few years ago, I started helping with design work for CALL4, and when I saw the cases I was involved with being featured on the evening news, I began to think that maybe there was something I could do. Gradually, I started to feel that I wanted to get involved more, which led me to decide to fully join CALL4. CALL4 aims to enable citizens to engage with lawsuits in their own ways. I might be embodying that right now.

デザイナーとしてより多くの人に伝わるよう働きかけるのはもちろん、デザインという専門性に捉われず、自分にできることを模索していきたいです。 As a designer, I hope to communicate to as many people as possible through my design, and beyond that, I want to explore what I can do without being confined by my expertise in design.
